The issue with Brandy is that there are stores everywhere that tailor to smaller people, where as most stores do not sell plus size clothing at all, which is why places like Torrid exist, where as Brandy is just unnecessary considering you can go almost anywhere and get those sizes. Basically without plus size stores being a thing larger people would have almost nothing to wear, especially modern and fashionable clothing.

I think another issue with the Brandy thing is that Torrid and other plus size only stores exist BECAUSE stores like Brandy exist. Íd much rather shop at stores that have all sizes but I haveńt been Brandy Melville sizes since I was like 11! While I agree that it would be nice to have everything on an even playing field and just everyone love their body and just, shop, it's not the reality. Clothing companies have followed trend and catered to small people who fit status quo, that's why Torrid exists. Because for the last 15 years I can't shop at Garage or Abercrombie etc, but now in the last 2 years I can go to Torrid. The market was different because society was different. The mark up on fabric per size is still not equal, plus size gets marked up more than it should. I get that it may cost a bit more but 10$ more is unreasonable when 2-5$ would fit margin fine. It's nice that I don't have to go to Pennington's anymore like I had to when I was a child BC no one in the mall thought my size was worth product in any stores my peers shopped at and although that's an old scar, It's just a bare bones truth. That's business. And it didn't change a lot as u got older, avoiding certain stores so my fashion came purely from 2-3 shops I knew worked but not cause I liked the store. But hey I didn't really like Abercrombie. But it does speak about what society saw as important and profitable and that would be smaller people. So even though we kinda are near a place where a brand does its sizes and that's cool, I just think their is more to look at and a statement suggesting that someone can't shop at Torrid just dismisses rather then dismantles the American body market corruption. Okay, thoughts on brandy- if they want to be considered a store for “skinny people who have a hard time finding clothes in their size” like many claim they are, then they need to at least carry sizes 000-4, and come in lengths x-short, short, & regular!! Not all petite people are one size!! Yes, Torrid caters to a certain group that traditionally has a hard time finding cute clothes, BUT they at least have a range of sizes.
