Maybe I'm just masochistic though.
Those "Little mistakes" are called "Barely". Barely hits are counted as a miss or as a hit depending on the minigame on older RH games. Starting on Fever though, all barely hits are counted as misses.
However, in an older rhythm heaven game, you could get a Superb medal while getting all barely hits lol (lockstep is the best example).
An all barely run of Lockstep will result in a try again. However you will still get a perfect from it
In megamix (the 3ds one) anyway

Barely hits are considered a miss in the code, they impact your score negatively, but not as much as a total miss
They also didn't count against perfect runs, making getting a perfect in lockstep much easier in Rhythm Heaven DS compared to Megamix on the 3DS

From an actual speedrunner, you would be surprised at how much time that is for speedruns. Some games have 2 second differences between first and 30th. I'm not even kidding. No hate, just fax

As a lad who hasn't played Rhythm Heaven, making "mistakes" that the game registers as not mistakes is a godsend. Imagine randomly getting the result you want after thinking it's already ggs

i'm sure someone's pointed this out already, but the "double-tap" for the credits part, Night Walk, is actually a part where you gotta press and hold A+B then release it. hold when you hit the first one, release when you hit the second one. you're able to play Night Walk on its own after you finish the credits, and it explains how to do it with a practice when you select the credits when the button is unlocked.

Trust me, playing Rhythm Heaven on the DS using a laptop emulator is somehow even harder than speedrunning Rhythm Heaven Fever, and from my experience a laptop mouse and the game's flicking controls do NOT mesh well together

I can't wait to watch this poor woman try and speed run this game.
As someone who can't even get past the first level of Rhythm Heaven Fever (I have no sense of rhythm), it's absolutely insane that anyone can speedrun that game. Nothing but mad respect for Jaiden and the other runners.

I remember playing the DS version of Rythym Heaven when I was little and I remember getting really far. Good stuff, btw!
As a person who has played rhythm games before i am very well aware that trying to achieve such crazy idea to get an all perfect run especially without the prior expert skills would instantly become a world of terror and unbearable mental and physical pain, on even the simplest of rhythm games.
Can confirm speedrunning is super stressful, especially on live streams like GDQ. I've never personally done it but my butt clenches just watching certain people pull of crazy game-breaking stunts

Rhythm Heaven aficionado here: The "hits that your unsure of whether they're mistakes or not" are referred to as "barely" hits. They do not count as hits and will automatically end a perfect run (aside from a few exceptions in the DS game).
